On the early morning of June 29, the Chinese Women’s Basketball Team faced Belgium in their third warm-up match during their European training camp. After a four-quarter contest, China lost 63-78 to their opponents, suffering their second consecutive defeat in Europe.
The Chinese team had previously embarked on their European training camp and played two exhibition games. Han Xu made her comeback, but Li Meng did not participate. In the opening match, China overturned Turkey 56-51, while in the second game, they were convincingly defeated by Spain 46-70.
Against Belgium, Li Meng remained absent. The Chinese started well, leading 22-20 after the first quarter. However, their offense faltered in the second quarter, scoring only seven points and conceding a 13-point deficit. They trailed by 11 points at halftime. The team’s offensive struggles persisted in the second half as they were consistently outplayed, ultimately losing 63-78 to their opponents, sealing their second straight loss in Europe.
As per schedule, China will face the Serbian Women’s Basketball Team at 2:30 AM on June 30. Serbia is also a group opponent for China in the Paris Olympics.
