Before joining Detroit, Bickerstaff led the Cavaliers to consecutive playoff appearances, including a trip to the Eastern Conference Semifinals this year.
The agreement between the two parties is for five years, suggesting that Bickerstaff is expected to serve as the Pistons’ head coach for the long term, barring any unexpected developments.
