On June 30, according to renowned journalist Shams Charania, LeBron James is projected to decline his $51.4 million player option for next season and ink a new contract with the Los Angeles Lakers.
As previously reported, the Lakers are willing to offer the 39-year-old a three-year, $162 million max deal.
Last season, James played 71 regular-season games for the Lakers, averaging 35.3 minutes per game, 25.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, 8.3 assists, and 1.3 steals. He shot 54.0% from the field, 41.0% from beyond the arc, and 75.0% from the free-throw line.
