On July 15 at 10 AM, the NBA Summer League continues with a matchup between the Golden State Warriors and the Chicago Bulls.
The Warriors have sent out a strong lineup for the Summer League, led by Bjelmski and Davis, who were both key rotation players in the regular season last year. Bjelmski even became a starter at times, making his performance in the Summer League a level above the competition. Additionally, the Warriors have Knox, with years of NBA experience, as well as Ethan Thompson, Plauden, Lovett, and others who also possess considerable talent.
In their first four Summer League games, the Warriors have been unstoppable, winning all four matches. They’ve had big victories over the Heat, Lakers, and Suns, and narrowly defeated the Kings by one point. In total, they outscored their opponents by 81 points across the four games, averaging more than a 20-point differential per game, showcasing their dominance. Their overwhelming performance has led some fans to jokingly refer to them as the kings of the Summer League. In their recent victory against the Suns, Bolden was injured and left the game, while Bjelmski posted near-triple-double numbers with 16 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists.
In their Summer League debut, the Bulls defeated the Bucks 96-89. The team displayed balanced scoring, with five players reaching double figures. Phillips, Sanogo, and Smart each scored 17 points, with Sanogo and Phillips recording double-doubles. Rookie Bouzulis contributed 15 points and 7 rebounds, illustrating the Bulls’ impressive form as a team.
Bouzulis, the No. 11 pick, is the standout rookie to watch. Standing at 6’10”, he hails from Lithuania and primarily plays small forward. During the 2023-24 season, Bouzulis played 26 games for the Ignite squad, averaging 14.3 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 2.1 blocks per game on 44.5% shooting from the field in 32 minutes per game. Based on his first game, Bouzulis demonstrated considerable potential. It will be interesting to see if he can maintain this level of performance against the Warriors.
