Recently, Tyson Fury’s manager, Spencer Brown, told the media that Fury is not at all bothered by Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) relinquishing his IBF heavyweight title.
Spencer Brown said, “Tyson Fury doesn’t give a damn that Usyk has given up the IBF belt. He’s resting and enjoying time with his kids. Fury doesn’t care about the belts; he’ll eventually become the undisputed champion, starting with defeating Usyk in their rematch on December 21st. Belts are just leather with some metal on them. All Tyson wants now is victory; everything else is secondary.”
Fury lost a controversial decision to Usyk in their May 18th ultimate unification bout, though he dominated rounds 3-7. Their second encounter promises to be intriguing. If Fury can maintain the boxing style he exhibited in those rounds for a full 12 rounds, his chances of winning are high. However, Usyk will undoubtedly make adjustments as well.
