Recently, ex-WBO junior middleweight champion Australian Tim Tszyu (24-1, 17 KOs) talked to the media about his favorite boxers, mostly fighters from his father Kostya Tszyu’s era.
Tim Tszyu said, “Who is my favorite boxer? Roy Jones Jr., Mike Tyson. I also like Fernando Vargas and Felix Trinidad, they are two of my favorites as well. There’s also Floyd Mayweather; when I came home from school, I often watched his fight videos and admired him a lot. There were others too, all from my dad’s era, such as Oscar De La Hoya, and I almost forgot Manny Pacquiao.”
The 29-year-old Tim Tszyu controversially lost a decision to Sebastian Fundora at the end of March this year, suffering his first career loss and losing his WBO 154-pound world title belt. Tim Tszyu was originally scheduled to fight Vergil Ortiz Jr. (21-0, 21 KOs) in August, but he withdrew from the bout because his wounds had not fully healed.
