According to recent media reports, former super featherweight challenger British boxer Jack Carterall (29-1, 13 KO) is set to return to the ring on August 24, taking on former WBC super featherweight champion American Regis Progress (29-2, 24 KO) in Manchester. The scheduled bout will consist of 12 rounds.
The 30-year-old Carterall boasts a professional record of 29 wins and one loss, with 13 knockouts, currently ranked #12 in the world at 140 pounds on the BOXREC. Standing at 1.70 meters tall with an arm reach of 1.75 meters, he fights left-handed. In May, he decisively won by points over four-time super featherweight champion Josh Taylor (19-2, 13 KO), marking a successful comeback. Last October, Carterall also secured a points victory over former three-division world champion George Linares (47-9, 29 KO).
At 35 years old, Progress has a record of 29 wins and two losses, with 24 knockouts, ranking #10 in the same weight division on BOXREC. Standing at 1.73 meters tall and with an arm reach of 1.70 meters, he too fights left-handed. His two losses were against Taylor and Devon Hani. Progress possesses considerable power but lacks a complete technical arsenal, which has hindered his ability to maintain the world title at 140 pounds consistently.
