Kompany: I Never Doubted Kane's Goal-Scoring Ability, and Thank the Substitutes for Their Contribution

China time on October 20th, Bayern Munich secured a convincing 4-0 home victory over Stuttgart in the Bundesliga.

Despite struggling offensively in the first half, Bayern demonstrated their formidable attacking prowess in the second half. Kane scored a hat-trick, while Coman also contributed a goal to extend the team’s lead.

After the match, Bayern’s head coach Kompany emphasized the importance of the substitutes: “We are fortunate to have such a group of substitutes who significantly improved the quality of the game when they came on. Especially in the final 30 minutes, when some of the starting players were running low on energy, the substitutes injected new vitality into the team.”

Speaking about his halftime instructions to the team, Kompany said: “I told the players to stay patient and not give up counter-attack opportunities easily. I believe we could have been more efficient with our chances in the first half. Stuttgart is a strong team, but we held on and ultimately secured the win. I am very satisfied with the players’ performance. Next, we will focus on preparing for the match against Barcelona.”

When asked about former Bayern coach Flick, Kompany stated: “Many coaches have made significant contributions to the development of Bayern Munich, and Flick is undoubtedly one of them. Coaches like Heynckes and Guardiola have also played important roles. For Flick, this match had special significance. But ultimately, whether for him or for us, the goal was to win the game.”

Regarding Kane’s hat-trick, Kompany commented: “To be honest, I never doubted that Kane would score goals in recent matches. I know his capabilities well. Whether in games or training sessions, he is always full of passion. Sometimes, people might overlook the effort Kane puts in for the team. But he always finds a way to score, and I believe he will continue to contribute goals for the team. That won’t change.”
