Today, the EWC Esports World Cup announced the initial round matchups for the tournament, taking place from July 17-21 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The 15 competing teams will vie for a share of the $1 million prize pool, with the champion team claiming $400,000.
The opening matches will be Best-of-Three (BO3), and victorious teams will advance directly to the elimination stage. Losing teams will join JiJieHao in a Single-Elimination BO1 Resurrection Bracket (JiJieHao, having progressed through the Middle East Closed Qualifier, entered the Last Chance Group instead of the main event). The winner of this resurrection bracket will secure a spot in the elimination phase.
The entire elimination stage will consist of BO3 matches, ultimately determining the tournament champion.
