Match Overview
In the first game, LGD’s lineup of Lightbinder and Werebeast was outmatched by Firecat and Beastmaster. They struggled online and were completely dominated in the mid-game rhythm, getting steamrolled by their opponents carrying the Aegis. In the second game, Aurora lacked a proper tempo for offense. Once LGD’s cores took the lead in gold, they swept across the map under the lead of Tiny with the Aegis, crushing Aurora.
Match Details
Game 1
Aurora was on Radiant, while LGD was on Dire.
In terms of lanes, Void (player 23) and Phoenix (Oli) faced off against Werebeast (niu) and Tiny (Pyw) at the bottom lane; Firecat (lorenof) went up against Lightbinder (EchozZ) in the mid-lane; Beastmaster (Jabz) and Rubick (Q) played against Slardar (shiro) and Dragon Knight (y) at the top lane.
At the 5-minute mark, Tiny roamed to the top lane and returned Beastmaster, but Slardar hesitated to engage immediately. After his teammates traded lives with Beastmaster, he moved in again, only to be finished off by the incoming Phoenix.
As Werebeast reached level 6 and Lightbinder completed his Dust of Appearance, LGD repeatedly targeted the bottom lane, but Aurora provided excellent protection. Not only did Void survive, but his teammates could also secure kills. At the 13th minute, Aurora struck first at the bottom lane, using Void and Phoenix’s ultimates to kill three enemies. Aurora’s gold lead surpassed 5k.
With the upper hand, Aurora relied on Beastmaster to carry the Aegis twice. LGD could only rely on pushing lanes to let Slardar farm. Although he achieved the top gold, LGD was powerless against Aurora’s push. After being pushed down the top lane, LGD tried to find an opportunity in the mid lane but failed. Firecat dodged the first move, and Void’s ultimate hit three targets. Werebeast and Slardar were sent back to the fountain without landing a hit, and LGD called it quits.
Game 2
LGD was on Radiant, while Aurora was on Dire.
For lane assignments, Troll Warlord (shiro) and Oracle (y) played against Oracle (Jabz) and Mars (Q) at the bottom lane; Shadow Fiend (EchozZ) fought Zeus (lorenof) in the mid-lane; Earthshaker (niu) and Tiny (Pyw) took on Bloodseeker (23) and Enigma (Oli) at the top lane.
At the 3rd minute, Tiny was the first to fall.
The early game saw few kills. Until the 7th minute, Shadow Fiend, who had acquired invisibility, roamed to the top lane. Although Aurora noticed this, not enough support arrived, allowing LGD to force a tower dive and secure kills. Seeing the favorable conditions at the top lane and the difficulty for Oracle and Zeus to provide support, LGD repeatedly attacked, taking down the top tower before the 10-minute mark. Unfortunately, LGD became too aggressive afterward. They charged into the jungle to kill Zeus but were met with counter-kills from the reinforcements of Aurora.
However, LGD maintained a gold lead on their cores. Aurora lacked a driving force for the tempo, and both teams farmed until the 18th minute when LGD took down Roshan. Troll Warlord carried the Aegis, but Aurora arrived too late and lost Oracle in the process.
At the 23rd minute, Tiny initiated and killed Oracle. LGD then pushed down the bottom lane, charging into the base entrance to kill Zeus. Shadow Fiend attempted to TP away but was stopped. After being wiped out, Aurora called it quits.
