FURIA has completed the signing of Felipe Medeiros | skullz, with the 22-year-old Brazilian set to fill the void left by the demotion of former captain arT.
skullz made the move from paiN to Liquid in December 2023, and has been a part of the team for the past seven months. Despite his high buyout price, rumored to be around $600,000, he failed to make a significant impact, registering an online rating of just 0.98.
In the wake of a disappointing season, it was no surprise that skullz found himself on the chopping block as Liquid missed out on a Major appearance, failing to mount a challenge for silverware. As part of their off-season rebuild, Liquid also benched in-game leader cadiaN and coach zews.
A return to a Brazilian lineup could prove to be a good opportunity for skullz to reignite his career. His arrival will also give FURIA a boost, re-establishing them as serious contenders.
Their triumph at Elisa Masters 2023 had given FURIA a confidence boost, but when 2024 rolled around, their form was underwhelming, leading to the departure of arT, who had been with the team since 2018.
In the final months of the first half of the year, FURIA turned to kye as a stand-in, but the academy player failed to impress, often being the subject of harsh criticism due to his performances.
As skullz joins the roster, former FURIA coach guerri transitions into the role of esports director for the organization, with assistant coach sidde stepping up to take over his position.
Former FaZe analyst Lucid and innersh1ne are also joining to bolster the coaching staff. The club has also revealed that Kaike Cerato | KSCERATO and Yuri Santos | yuurih have penned three-year extensions with FURIA, putting an end to transfer rumors circulating within the community.
With the addition of skullz, FURIA’s current lineup is as follows:
Yuri Santos | yuurih
Kaike Cerato | KSCERATO
Gabriel Toledo | FalleN
Marcelo Cespedes | chelo
Felipe Medeiros | skullz
Sid Macedo | sidde (Coach)
