r1nkle and Senzu narrowly missed out on the MVP title, but both secured their first-ever tournament EVPs.
In the YaLLa Compass event, The MongolZ emerged as champions after topping their group and defeating Astralis 2-1 in the playoffs, before going on to beat Ninjas in Pyjamas with the same score in the grand final, defeating two top 10 teams along the way.
The MongolZ’s sniper, Usukhbayar Banzragch | 910, dominated in the group stage and the BO3 against Astralis in the semis, securing his first MVP award with standout performances, especially in key BO1s against ENCE, NIP, and HEROIC.
Besides 910, the rest of the Mongolian roster also showcased impressive skills, as evident in today’s EVP list.
Artem Moroz | r1nkle
Despite a short tenure with NIP, r1nkle has already proven to be a crucial piece in the Ninjas’ return to form.
A more aggressive sniper than his predecessor Daniil Valitov | headtr1ck, r1nkle averaged 0.14 first kills and 0.20 multi-kills per round at YaLLa Compass. However, his raw style sometimes led to over-pushing in the final, leaving room for improvement.
Munkhbold Azbayar | Senzu
Senzu has been a standout player for Mongolia this year, delivering in the playoffs with a 1.37 rating against Astralis in the semi-final’s map one and 1.59 and 1.64 ratings in the grand final maps.
While his consistency was lacking, Senzu’s aggressive rifling earned him a strong EVP recognition.
Ayush Batbold | mzinho
As the X-factor for Mongolia, mzinho secured three 1v2 clutch victories, two in the final. With 81% of his kills contributing to winning rounds, he demonstrated his impact as a primary caller.
His average rating of 1.22 in map victories highlights his contribution to the team’s triumph.
Kaike Cerato | KSCERATO
KSCERATO claimed his first tournament EVP of the year for carrying FURIA to the semi-finals as group winners. His standout performances against BB (2.17 rating) and Eternal Fire (1.70 rating) showcased his capabilities, even in FURIA’s loss to NIP in the semis.
With a 1.21 LAN rating, KSCERATO still has time to shine and vie for a Top 20 spot.
The Golden Five
Only KSCERATO is not from the Mongolian squad; the remaining four form part of the “Golden Family.” Garidmagnai Byambasuren | bLitz stands as the best IGL, surrounded by the best sniper (910), fragger (Senzu), and primary caller (mzinho).
Honorable Mentions
NIP’s closest contender for EVP was Fredrik Sterner | REZ, despite a 16-6 CT side performance in the final map, while Martin Lund | stavn had a 1.21 rating, but often wasn’t the driving force behind Astralis’ victories. A stronger showing in the deciding map could have landed him an EVP too.
