The fifth round of the FIM Grand Prix World Championship for 2024, held from May 10-12, takes place at the Circuit des 24 Heures in Le Mans, France (also known as Le Mans Motorsport Park).
For Fabio Quartararo and his team, this French event holds extra significance – with a larger fan base supporting their home rider. For this race, Quartararo and his YZR-M1 motorcycle feature a unique livery, a tribute to fans’ dedication. As he stated on the weekend before the race, “My helmet and special design today are meant to celebrate with the fans at the track and mark my contract extension with Yamaha until 2026, which I confirmed earlier this April. I wanted to create something fun and different, and even the boots and gloves look fantastic.”
In the French Grand Prix’s Q2 qualifying session, Quartararo secured eighth position, while the 2021 MotoGP World Champion finished tenth in the sprint race, representing Yamaha’s best result among Japanese manufacturers. Currently, he stands at 12th place in the MotoGP championship standings with 25 points.
