Jakarta – MotoGP operator Dorna Sports is introducing a new award this season. They will honor the rider with the best overtaking maneuvers with the Agostini Fan Award.
The award, as reported on the official MotoGP website, takes its name from MotoGP legend Giacomo Agostini. This accolade is presented by Dorna to bring fans even closer to the world of MotoGP.
They will directly involve fans as the main decision-makers in choosing the winner.
MotoGP enthusiasts can select from four riders who have performed the best overtakes, from the 2021 Valencia MotoGP to the 2022 Malaysian MotoGP. The four nominated riders are Alex Espargaro, Fabio Quartararo, Enea Bastianini, and Francesco Bagnaia.
These four riders were chosen by Dorna for their exceptional moves. Bastianini was nominated for his overtake on Bagnaia in the 2022 Aragon MotoGP, while Bagnaia earned his nomination for overtaking Marc Marquez and Jorge Martin in the 2022 Australian MotoGP.
Fans can start voting from Friday, October 28th, through MotoGP’s official social media channels. The winner of the Agostini Fan Award will be announced after the final race of the season, the 2022 Valencia MotoGP.
