In the span of just over a week in June, the MotoGP rider market has seen a significant reshuffle, stirring anticipation for the 2025 season well ahead of its usual timeline. With twenty rounds in this year’s championship and only seven completed so far, this early movement contrasts with past seasons where lineups typically became clearer mid-season.
The latest official announcement came from KTM on June 13th, revealing that Spanish rider Maverick Vinales will depart Aprilia after the 2024 season to join Tech3 in 2025, alongside Enea Bastianini, an Italian rider who was previously confirmed. Earlier, on June 1st, KTM announced that Pedro Acosta, also a Spanish rider, would move from GASGAS to the factory KTM team, partnering with South Africa’s Brad Binder as the Austrian manufacturer’s assault force.
A particularly impactful change was announced by Ducati’s factory team on June 5th: Marc Marquez, the Spanish rider, will transfer to Ducati for the 2025 season, where he will race alongside Francesco Bagnaia on the cutting-edge Desmosedici GP.
On June 3rd, Jorge Martin, currently leading the MotoGP standings, signed a multi-year deal with Aprilia, set to join their factory team after the conclusion of the 2024 season.
