On November 20, Cassano publicly questioned Roma’s decision to rehire Ranieri in a live video stream. He believes this represents a lack of ambition from the club, aiming only to quickly quell the unrest, and that they should look for someone else to clean up the mess.
Cassano said, “The Friedkin Group doesn’t realize that Romans are not stupid. In my opinion, they are just creating another mess. What did they do? They allowed the environment to become toxic and then expressed their dissatisfaction. Their idea is, since I don’t want to bring back De Rossi, let’s find someone who can calm everyone down. Finally, Cassano questioned the club’s owners, the Friedkin Group: “Please explain to me, what is this move about? Just to quell the unrest? You brought back someone who might become a club executive next year.”
