On November 13, according to The New York Times, Roma FC is in talks with Claudio Ranieri to return as the club’s manager. The 73-year-old veteran coach is being considered to take charge of the team.
This season, Roma has been in turmoil, having changed managers twice already, with Daniele De Rossi and Igor Tudor both leaving their positions. Currently, Roma’s performance is poor, with only 3 wins, 4 draws, and 5 losses, accumulating 13 points and ranking 12th in the Serie A league. The prospect of qualifying for European competitions through the league is becoming increasingly slim.
During the current international break, Roma is actively negotiating with Ranieri, hoping he will take the helm of the Giallorossi and lead the team through the remainder of the season.
Ranieri has a 37-year coaching career and extensive experience. He previously managed Roma from 2009 to 2011 and again in 2019. If he returns to manage Roma, it would mark his third tenure with the club. One of the most notable achievements in Ranieri’s career was leading the underdog Leicester City to the Premier League title in the 2015-16 season.
