According to reports from Italian outlet Calciomercato, Lazio has submitted a transfer bid of €25 million for Greenwood. Furthermore, the Biancocelesti have established a deadline for the deal, hoping to finalize it by July 8th.
After a two-year absence from football, Greenwood made his comeback, being loaned by Manchester United to La Liga’s Getafe last season to regain form. In the past year, he featured in 36 matches for Getafe, starting 33 of them, scoring 10 goals and providing 6 assists. His market value has now recovered to €25 million.
As per Calciomercato, Lazio has shown significant interest in Greenwood and has presented an offer around €25 million. However, Manchester United is reportedly asking for a fee as high as €50 million.
Lazio is gradually losing its patience. The club has set its sights on July 8th as the final date for this transaction. Within this timeframe, they are likely to present an improved offer to Manchester United. Should that not materialize, Lazio will pivot to alternative transfer targets. Currently, French side Marseille is also closely monitoring Greenwood’s situation.
