With their exit from the tournament in the round of eight, this match marked the end of Toni Kroos’s professional career. He had previously announced that he would retire from football following the conclusion of the Euros.
In response, Real Madrid’s official social media posted an image of Kroos, accompanied by the caption, “An extraordinary legendary career, Kroos.”
