Manager Tedesco has opted not to utilize the full 26-player roster, stating, “I believe in the strength of our team, and I think the current number of players is just right.”
Earlier this week, Tedesco called up Ane Engels and Mandela Keita for training with the squad, sparking speculation that one might join the team before Saturday’s deadline. However, Tedesco clarified that neither player would be part of the competition.
There were concerns about the fitness of defenders Vertonghen and Tete, but the Belgium coach has included them both in the squad. He remarked, “Vertonghen will be back soon. Of course, it’s not easy for him not to play, but he’s an important part of our selection. Tete will be out for a while.”
