According to German newspaper Bild, the newest iteration of the German national team, gathered in Frankfurt, has not only been undertaking regular training sessions but also participating in team-building activities.
As captured by Bild’s photographers, the organizers of this event were Toni Kroos, Ilkay Gündogan, and Joshua Kimmich. Unfortunately, previous team-bonding organizer, Kevin Trapp, missed out on this squad selection. The venue for the German team’s match against the Netherlands is the home stadium of Trapp’s club.
For this team-bonding session, the German team chose electric go-karting, taking place at the Eco Kartbahn track in central Frankfurt, known as one of Europe’s most modern and innovative circuits. The players opted for Rimo karts as their vehicles of choice.
Go-karting has a tradition within the German team. As far back as 2006, before the World Cup, the team conducted a go-karting session during their training camp on Sardinia. The winner then was the aptly named “Hammer,” Steffen Hitzfeld, with Michael Ballack and Schneider finishing second.
