On July 11th, Borussia Dortmund confirmed that their soon-to-be recruit, Selo Gira, was found to have an injury issue during his medical examination, with further details pending subsequent test results.
Previously, as reported by multiple media outlets and journalists including Fabrizio Romano, Stuttgart forward Selo Gira had virtually agreed to join Borussia Dortmund, with a contract set to run until 2028. However, an unexpected development during the medical has put the transfer process on hold.
According to German Sky Sports reporter, Dortmund discovered an injury in Gira’s knee during the medical check-up and is seeking more detailed examinations and medical advice. There are also indications that Gira’s injury is not serious, with Dortmund’s medical team confident in restoring Gira’s health, though everything hinges on the outcome of additional tests.
As per the schedule, Gira is due to fly back to Stuttgart upon completion of his medical, with both clubs maintaining communication. However, the transfer decision is expected to be made sometime next week.
