According to journalist Cheng Wenli, Shenzhen has indeed put forward a bid to host the U20 Asian Cup and the national team’s World Cup qualifier matches in the final round of 18.
The report states that although Shenzhen has expressed interest, it does not guarantee that the events will definitely take place there; they still require going through procedures and final confirmation.
If Shenzhen wins the hosting rights for the U20 Asian Cup, new stadiums such as the Shenzhen Football Association Guangming Base and Xixiang Sports Center are expected to stage the games.
Cheng Wenli revealed that in addition to the U20 Asian Cup, Shenzhen is also applying to host home matches for the national team in the final round of 18, such as the game against Japan in November or the match against Australia in March next year.
