On July 17, Mexico’s men’s national football team officially announced that Jaime Lozano would no longer serve as the team’s head coach.
The official statement from Mexico’s men’s national football team reads, “You came in during a difficult time, bringing unity and professionalism to this team, and bravely facing the challenges ahead.”
“Today, your tenure as head coach of the national team comes to an end, and we want to thank you for your contributions in this role. Thank you, Jaime!”
Jaime Lozano took over as head coach of Mexico’s men’s national football team in August 2023. To date, he has led the team through 15 matches, achieving 5 wins, 4 draws, and 6 losses, with a win rate of 33.33%. In the Copa America tournament, under Lozano’s leadership, Mexico only managed 1 win, 1 draw, and 1 loss in the group stage, leading to their early elimination, which is considered the direct reason for Lozano’s removal as head coach.
