In the 19th minute, Ulsan HD launched an attack on the right side. Yeom Won-sang broke through two defenders using his individual skills in the center and chose to pass to a teammate who had run up on the left wing, but it was thwarted by the defender.
Ulsan HD did not rush their attacks, instead opting for counterattacks, a departure from their usual style. Seoul FC struggled to find opportunities against a tightly packed defense, resulting in a rather dull match.
In the 30th minute, Ulsan HD suddenly changed their tempo. Yeom Won-sang penetrated the box from the right and unleashed a dangerous low shot that narrowly missed the far post.
In the 39th minute, Seoul FC earned a free-kick in the front third. Han Sung-gyu delivered the ball into the penalty area where Kwon Wan-gyu’s header threw off the goalkeeper’s judgement, but Ulsan HD’s keeper barely managed to parry it away.
