Recently, Jamie Carragher praised Manchester City star Phil Foden in his column for The Daily Telegraph, comparing the young Englishman to French footballing legend Zinedine Zidane.
Carragher wrote: Bellingham is a phenomenon, but for me, Foden is England’s most gifted footballer. I’m not sure England has ever had a player quite like Foden.
The highest compliment I can pay is that when I see Foden’s first touch, control, and balletic movement in tight spaces, the first player that comes to mind is Zidane and Iniesta.
