On July 15th, the Copa America final was tied at halftime, with Argentina and Colombia at 0-0.
Shakira’s performance extended the halftime break to 25 minutes, a scenario that Colombian coach Néstor Lorenzo did not welcome.
“I think the halftime in a final should be 15 minutes because that’s the rule. And when we returned to the pitch after 16 minutes, we were already fined. I believe the halftime in a final should be 15 minutes because that’s the rule. But now it’s clear that, due to the concert, the players’ bodies could get cold. Those few minutes of recovery in the locker room… people don’t understand what it takes to reach this level.”
