On July 15th, in the Euro Cup final, Spain triumphed over England with a 2-1 victory, securing the championship. After the game, Kukurelia, a key player in Spain’s win, mocked the German fans who came to the final just to boo him, calling it a sheer waste of money.
In the Euro Cup quarter-finals, Spain defeated host nation Germany 2-1 after extra time and advanced to the semi-finals. During extra time, Musiala’s shot from the edge of the box struck Kukurelia’s arm, but the referee did not award a penalty, which upset the German fans.
During the Euro Cup final, German fans showered Kukurelia with boos. Speaking about this, Kukurelia said, “During the final, the first time I realized I was being targeted by fans was when my name was announced before the match, and many people booed me. Reflecting on it, it must have been due to the handball incident during the game against Germany. I didn’t think much about it; I just felt sorry for these fans who booed. They came to the game with the sole purpose of booing me, what a waste of ticket money. I would rather see fans who love football at the stadium.”
