On the Euro Cup pitch, Spanish young star Lamine Yamal not only excelled in his performance but also surprisingly outpaced Portuguese megastar Cristiano Ronaldo in a different arena.
Yamal became a hot topic on social media during the Euro Cup. According to the latest statistics from Mundo Deportivo, Yamal topped the charts for the fastest growth in followers on his social accounts during the tournament. Specifically, at the start of the Euro Cup, Yamal had slightly over 7 million followers, but by the end of the event, he gained an additional 6.2 million followers, bringing his total to 13.2 million.
What is even more astonishing is that Yamal’s increase in new followers was twice that of Cristiano Ronaldo, the “King of Social Media,” who added only 2.9 million followers during the Euro Cup.
Among the top ten players with the highest follower growth during the Euro Cup, Turkish young talent Arda Kulaher ranked third with a gain of 2.16 million followers.
Following closely behind were Bellingham (1.85 million new followers) and Nico Williams (1.83 million). Spanish players saw the largest growth in followers during the Euro Cup, totaling 11.7 million, with Yamal alone contributing 6.2 million.
