On July 12th, Spanish full-back Karvajal, in an interview with ‘Sport’, spoke about topics such as Gavi and Nico.
On the duo of Gavi and Nico
Karvajal: “Gavi and Nico Williams are very good. They have great pressure resistance, which is what sets them apart. Currently, no one works better together on the left and right wings than these two, each on one side, and they can switch positions flexibly.”
Talking about getting along with Gavi and Nico
Karvajal: “To be honest, it’s quite fun to get along with them because we are two different generations, and I often remind them to stay focused. Let me tell you a funny story. Before the game against Germany, Gavi fell asleep on the bench multiple times while the coach’s tactical analysis video was playing on the screen.”
Speaking about his opinion of Gavi
Karvajal: “I get along well with him. Gavi performed outstandingly in this European Cup, but he is very relaxed, as if he is playing football with his neighbors and friends. This ease gives us a lot of confidence.”
“He plays for Barcelona, but I still wish him a successful career. As older players, we need to be patient and take care of him, which will help him start his own era.”
“Barcelona has a leader like Messi, and Gavi must learn from him. Messi is a role model.”
