According to several British media outlets, James Maddison has missed out on England’s Euro championship squad and has left the training camp.
Maddison had initially been included in Southgate’s 33-man provisional list and came on as a substitute in England’s 3-0 home victory against Bosnia. However, Southgate has decided not to take him to Germany, with the final 26-man squad set to be announced on June 7th.
Additionally, The Telegraph reports that Bowen’s chances of selection have significantly increased following Maddison’s exclusion.
The 27-year-old Maddison featured in 30 matches for Tottenham this season, scoring 4 goals and providing 9 assists. At the international level, he has made just 3 appearances in Euro qualifiers and 2 friendlies for England, contributing one assist.
