Budimir: It’s a pity we didn’t hold on, but maybe the result was fair

In the second round of Group B matches at the European Championship, Croatia suffered a last-minute equalizer from Albania, ending 2-2, and now face elimination with only one point. After the match, Budimir spoke to the media.

Budimir: “A 2-2 draw, one point. Of course, we regret not holding on for the last ten minutes. We wanted that third goal because every one counts, but it didn’t work out. They had two or three counterattacks in the beginning, and Livaković reacted well. Perhaps this result is just. We gave our all in the second half to turn things around, and we succeeded. We’re disappointed with those final ten minutes, but we’ll keep going. In our last game against Italy, we must maintain a high level for the full 90 minutes.”
