On June 1st, Beijing time, former German international Lukas Podolski was interviewed by the Daily Mail, discussing topics related to the Euros and Harry Kane.
Podolski shared his thoughts on the upcoming Euros, naming France and England as the main title contenders, followed by Germany, Spain, and Belgium.
Commenting on Germany’s prospects in the tournament, Podolski expressed his hopes, “Germany is the best host, the 2006 World Cup was in my opinion the best edition, with full stadiums and great reception. In recent years, the German team has struggled, so I hope they can regain their form and reclaim their status as a top team through this Euro Cup.”
When discussing Kane, Podolski jokingly remarked, “Kane has won as many trophies with Bayern as he has with Tottenham. A move to Bayern would be good for both him and the club. Kane is the best option on the transfer market, and Bayern have invested a lot to get him. He remains efficient on the pitch. It’s great to see a top Premier League player join the Bundesliga, and Bayern is the only club in the league capable of affording such a high transfer fee and salary. Kane scores plenty, but Bayern finishes third in the Bundesliga, just like he did without any silverware at Tottenham.”
Podolski also talked about his former club Arsenal, stating that the Gunners need to sign a goalscoring number 9 if they want to win the Premier League title.
