The third day of the 2024 Wimbledon Qualifying saw only Bai Zuoxuan advance among the three Chinese players who reached the second round. She overcame Thailand’s Tararat in a pair of tiebreaks, winning 7-6(4)/7-6(7), setting up a clash with Kazakhstan’s Dia for a main draw spot. Dia, who once ranked as high as No.31, reached the quarterfinals at Wimbledon in 2014 and 2015, showcasing her grass court prowess. She returned to competition in May this year, currently holding a world ranking of No.967.

Bu Yunchaoke fought through three sets but fell short, 5-7/7-6(10)/4-6, against former No.39 Albert. This marks his second consecutive second-round exit in a Grand Slam qualifier after Roland Garros. After losing the first set, Bu saved two match points in the second-set tiebreak to force a decider. However, Albert’s experience proved decisive as he secured an early break and maintained his lead to prevail. Following his Wimbledon campaign, Bu will participate in hard court Challenger events in the United States and Canada in July.
