On June 23rd, 2024, in the singles final of the ATP 500 Queen’s Club, 5th seed Taylor Fritz defeated Jannik Sinner 6-1, 7-6(8) to win his first 500-level title. This is also his maiden grass court championship and his third career title overall.
“To hear my name in the locker room with those past champions is unbelievable. My goal was to have my name next to theirs,” Paul said after the match. “Thank you to my whole team!”
With his 27th victory of the season at the tour level, Paul climbed to world No. 12 in the new ATP rankings, surpassing Tommy Paul to become the top-ranked American.
Paul made a strong impression at Queen’s Club, losing only one set en route to the title. The American captured his first ATP Tour title at the 2021 Stockholm Open and won in Dallas earlier this year.
