Recently, Palmer shared his transfer process from Manchester City to Chelsea in an interview with GQ magazine.
Palmer said, “I wasn’t going to join Chelsea, but in the end, my agent convinced me. I didn’t say I wanted to leave Manchester City permanently, you know, I just wanted to go out on loan for some experience.”
“I knew I wouldn’t be playing as much as I wanted at Manchester City. When you’re with the England youth team, you see some players playing in the Premier League every week. You look around and think, I can play in this league too. It’s really frustrating when you’re not getting game time.”
At 22 years old, Palmer joined Chelsea from Manchester City last summer for a transfer fee of up to €47 million. This season, he has started all 11 of Chelsea’s Premier League matches, scoring 7 goals and providing 5 assists, leading both the team’s scoring and assist charts.
