In the European Championship final that concluded in the early hours of today, England lost 1-2 to Spain, finishing as runners-up. In this match, Arsenal’s homegrown player Declan Rice started and played the full 90 minutes, performing decently but failing to help the Three Lions lift the trophy. After the game, former Tottenham star Rafael van der Vaart also questioned Rice in a TV program.
Van der Vaart said, “(Arsenal) spent £100 million on Rice, what did he do? He received the ball just to pass it back to Stones. He was useless; if he really is worth £100 million, then he should be able to pass the ball to the forwards.”
